From the Manila Observatory:

Samplers were set up to run for 24 hours, from noon of December 31 to noon of the New Year, in Manila Observatory (Quezon City), Barangka (Marikina City), Nangka (Marikina City), Oro Vista Royale (Antipolo City), and Valle Verde (Pasig City) for New Year 2011.  The measured PM2.5 values in all the sites increased to levels similar to those measured in the New Year of 2007 (the highest levels recorded since 2003).  The greatest PM2.5 values were measured this year in Barangka (511 mg/m3), Manila Observatory (494 mg/m3) and Nangka (539 mg/m3).  PM2.5 concentrations in all the sites were in exceedance of the 24-hour World Health Organization guideline value for PM2.5: 25 mg/m3.
