In the April 18, 2012 video segment of BBC News Asia, Dr. Nofel Lagrosas was interviewed regarding air pollution in EDSA and the repainting of EDSA murals by Boysen’s KNOxOut paint.  Dr. Nofel Lagrosas is the Chair of the Department of Physics of Ateneo de Manila University and a Scientist in Manila Observatory’s Urban Air Quality program under Dr. James Simpas.

Here is a transcript of BBC’s interview:

Kate McGeown: Environmental scientist Nofel Lagrosas goes out to measure pollution levels.

Nofel Lagrosas: Aw, it is alarming.  And that tells us that the air is really, really unhealthy.

Kate McGeown: How effective do you think these paints gonna be?

Nofel Lagrosas:  These paints can get roughly 20 percent of Nitrogen Dioxides. That is already a good number; however, if you take a look at the whole air pollution in general, that is just a fraction of what is suppose to be clean.
